The HEROES Weekend at Book Cafe and Mannenberg SAT 06, 2-5pm, PABLO & FRIENDS – An afternoon of jazz by gifted young jazzists of Zimbabwe; TRYBE AFRIKA !!!from 5.30-7pm, and 8pm, Hokoyo naCHIWONISO ! – Zimbabwe’s feisty mbira star with THE VIBE CULTURE and special collaborations.Sunday 7 sees, from 8pm, MBIRA dzeNHARIRA – Another exciting mbira experience, to usher in the Heroes Holiday, and the now famous BOOK CAFÉ OPEN MICcontinues on Mon 8, from 6pm,– All artists welcome! On Tuesday Book Cafe and Mannenberg will be CLOSED FOR THE PUBLIC HOLIDAY – Happy Heroes!
MANNENBERG, This Week Saturday 6 at the Mannenberg starts with the “UP IN FIRE” Dub poetry, and will be followed by performances by the TRANSIT CREW at 9pm. The weekend will wind down with VICTOR KUNONGA & PEACE, featuring classic originals from the first 3 albums, and new music in the making: The new face of Africa. The Mannenberg will be closed for the holidays on both Monday the 8th and Tuesday the 9th. Happy Heroes! |
