WED 09, 6pm, Film Screening, BAGDAD CAFÉ – It’s just a greasy spoon and rusty gas pump, but for Jasmin, a German house wife on holiday who’s dumped her husband in the middle of the Majave, Bagdad Café appears as an oasis amid the dunes. Until, that is, she checks into the café’s ramshackle hotel and tangles with it’s bad-tempered owner. Brenda is sloppy loud and overworked, with too many kids and no patience for strangers. Armed with a mop and magic kit, Jasmin transforms this dump into a popular roadside attraction. BAGDAD CAFÉ is an offbeat comedy about mismatched characters who find paradise off beaten track.
