SAT 16, 2-5pm, SISTAZ OPEN MIC – MUSIC, POETRY, DANCE, WHATEVA - This is your space Sistaz, come do your thang!   THE BIRTHDAY BASH celebrating 3 years on the open mic platform and still going strong: special guest appearances by divas who have supported the programme from the start: Dudu Manhenga, Rute Mbangwa, Patience Musa ++ New Voices from 2009.

, 5.30-7pm, PATIENCE MUSA – back on the jazz stage with JIMMY BUZUZI and JAZZ INVITATION – an afro jazz special for sunset featuring old favourites and new originals by gifted young artists. 

THU 21, 5.30-7pm – LITERARY EVENING by Weaver Press with readings by Zimbabwean writers from their new collections of short stories: “THE TREK AND OTHER STORIES” by Daniel Mandishona, and “WHITE GODS, BLACK DEMONS” by Lawrence Hoba.  Followed by a discussion led by Fanuel Jongwe & Murray McCartney, “BOOK-BUYING & BOOK-MARKETING

IN ZIMBABWE” – Free, all welcome!  Supported by Pamberi Trust

THE MANNENBERG WEEK

 

THU 14, 6pm, MBIRA DZEMUNINGA – Featuring Jacob Mafuleni, Micah Munhemo, Tonderai Ndava & Peacheson Ngoshi) - MULTIPLE CD LAUNCH, with a show after at 9pm.

While on tour in the U.S in 2009, Mbira dzeMuninga recorded & produced a number of cd’s. The first, “MUNINGA” then  Micah Muchemo recorded a solo cd, “ROVAMBIRA”. Then two albums recorded with friends, the first being “ SUNGANO”  recorded with the group Sungano  from  Washington & “NDIRI MUMHANZI” with the gropu Ndiri Mumhanzi from Santa Cruz, CA. Muninga were also guests on the Cd “TIRINGEIWO” NOW PLEASE JOIN US IN CELEBRATING THE RELEASE OF THESE 5 CD’S
